Optical Oxygen Meter - PICO2

The ultra-compact PICO2 is a fiber-optic oxygen meter integrated in a small USB stick housing based on the proven high-precision REDFLASH technology from PyroScience. The PICO2 is optimized for advanced applications of contactless sensors in closed set-ups with constant temperature. It features very low power consumption, contactless read-out of oxygen sensor spots through up to 20 mm thick windows, as well as real-time oxygen monitoring, high through-put screening and microfluidic applications (lab-on-a-chip) with dispersible oxygen nanoprobes. Simply plug the PICO2 into a USB port of your Windows PC or tablet, connect the sensor of your choice and start calibrating and measuring with the comfortable logging software "Pyro Oxygen Logger".

Innovative REDFLASH technology. The REDFLASH technology from PyroScience is based on the unique analyte-sensitive REDFLASH sensor materials. The REDFLASH sensor materials are excitable with red light and show an analyte-dependent luminescence in the near infrared (NIR). The REDFLASH technology impresses by its high precision, high reliability, low power consumption, low cross-sensitivity, and fast response times. The red light excitation significantly reduces interferences caused by autofluorescent samples. Further, the NIR detection technology significantly reduces interference with ambient light, known from the old blue-light techniques.

Supported analytes. This meter is compatible to our optical oxygen sensors with a PICO-connector. The optical temperature and pH sensors as well as our Pt100 temperature probes are not supported.

Laboratory device. This plug & play solution comes with a standard USB connection and a free Windows logging software.

Versatile PC software. The Pyro Oxygen Logger is used for setting up the device and calibrating the sensors. The measured values are displayd numerically and graphically and can be logged in respective datafiles for further data processing. The software is available for free in the Downloads tab.

LabVIEW library. For customer software solutions, a fully functional LabVIEW library and a respective communication protocol is available on request.  Just let us know.

Optical channel. This meter features one optical channel with a PICO-connector, compatible to a broad range of fiber-optic and contactless sensors. The optical sensor of your choice must be purchased separately.
