The insertable temperature miniprobe TPIMP500 is composed of a black fiber-optic cable, ca. 1m in length with ST-plug for connection to the optical FireSting®-O2 or FireSting®-PRO meter. The sensing tip with a diameter of 500µm is located at the very end of a bare optical fiber. Each packaging unit contains 2 insertable temperature miniprobes and 2 intravenous cannulas for insertion into semi-solid samples. This sensor is perfectly suited for temperature compensation of measurements with insertable oxygen and pH miniprobes and for temperature measurements in semi-solid samples and integration into custom housings.
The fiber-optic temperature sensors rely on thermal quenching of photoluminescence and are optimized for the innovative REDFLASH technology from PyroScience. The optical temperature sensors are characterized by extreme photo-stability, small size of the sensor tip (minisensors), ultra-fast response times (<0.1s in water), and do not show interference with gases (such as oxygen) and ionic species.
Temperature range. This sensor is specified for the range of 0 to 50°C. Measurements at higher temperatures are possible, but the sensor specifications are not valid for temperatures out of this range.
Bare polymeric optical fiber. The bare polymeric fiber is more robust than the optical fiber of our standard bare fiber sensors. The sensor comes without sensor housing, but is delivered with a compatible I.V. cannula for protected insertion into semi-solid samples.
Ultra-high speed (-UHS). Typical response times for 90% signal change (T90) in water and gas: <0.3 s. Measured for the transition from air into a stirred solution of 1% Na2SO3.
ST-connector. This connector is our standard sensor connector for sensor compatible FireSting devices.
Star sensor. This sensor is one of the world's best or only solutions in a certain application area, featuring for example a very fast response time, solvent resistance or a unique sensor format.
