Bare fiber. The bare fiber oxygen sensors are principally identical to our retractable needle-type oxygen sensors, but they come without any sensor housing.

Contactless readout. We offer sensors, which can be read out from the outside without disturbing an environmentally closed system. This way the risk of leaks or contaminations are significantly reduced compared to standard probe-type sensors. Measurements in closed systems need to be performed at constant temperatures.

Fiber sensor. These sensors are optical fiber based (except Pt100 probes). In every case the sensitive part is located at the fiber tip.

Fixed fiber. The fragile sensor tip protrudes from a straight-cut needle. Fixed fiber sensors can be applied in liquids and in gases. The complete inner space of the syringe needle is carefully filled with glue, minimizing any gas reservoir which might slow down the response time of the sensor.

Flow through cell. The flow-through cells have an integrated sensor for contactless measurements of gaseous or aqueous liquid samples flowing through the cell. The cell is equipped with Luer-lock connectors on both tubing ends. The included set of Luer-lock adapters allows direct connection of tubings with ca. 3-4 mm or 1-2 mm inner diameter. The flow through cell is connected to an optical oxygen meter from PyroScience with an optical fiber.

Good value. This product is a basic sensor for applications with no special requirements (like ultra fast response times, resistance to solvents, low detection limit).

High speed (-HS). Fast oxygen sensors with a typical response times for 90% signal change (T90) in water and gas of <0.8 s (measured for the transition from air into a stirred solution of 1% Na2SO3).

LEMO-connector. This LEMO-connector is the standard connector for out electric Pt100 temperature probes for automatic temperature compensation of oxygen and/or pH measurements.

Multi-analyte. We offer sensor systems, which feature more than one analyte. For example, sensor vials containing an oxygen, pH and temperature sensor enabling a contactless measurement from the outside of all three analytes simultaneously.

Microsensor. Fiber optic microsensors consist of an optical fiber (230 µm) with a sensor tip diameter of approximately 50-70 µm. Microsensors are perfectly suited for measurements in small samples and for profile measurements (e.g. in sediments, soils, plant tissue, biofilm) with high spatial resolution (microprofiling).

Minisensor. Fiber-optic minisensors consist of an optical fiber with a sensor tip diameter of 430 µm. Compared to microsensors, they are suited for slightly larger samples, long-term measurements and for profiling applications with less spatial resolution requirements.

Nanoprobes. The oxygen nanoprobes OXNANO allow dissolved oxygen (DO) measurements in liquid samples within closed transparent systems (plastic or glass). They are perfectly dispersible in aqueous solutions or culture media. A simple batch calibration of the nanoprobe dispersion allows read-out at various locations along the sample container or in different samples containing the same dispersion. They are ideally suitable for contactless measurements of fast processes in small sample volumes and within complex geometries.

Optical isolation (-OI). For applications at high ambient light (e.g. direct sunlight, illuminated samples) and in fluorescing / light-sensitive samples, sensors with additional optical isolation (OI, a protection layer added to the sensor surface) should be applied to avoid interferences with the measurements.

Oxygen. These sensors measure the oxygen partial pressure. Other oxygen units are calculated by the respective device/ software.

PICO-connector. This sensor connector is specially designed for the ultra-compact laboratory oxygen meter PICO2.

pH. These sensors measure the pH value of aqueous systems.

pH range 4.0-6.0. These sensors are specified for the pH range 4.0-6.0.

pH range 5.0-7.0. These sensors are specified for the pH range 5.0-7.0.

pH range 6-8. These sensors are specified for the pH range 6.0-8.0.

pH range 7-9. These sensors are specified for the pH range 7.0-9.0.

pH total scale. These sensors are specified for the pH range 7.0-9.0 on the pH total scale.

Protected tip. The very sensor tip is positioned exactly within the bevel of a beveled needle tip, giving mechanical protection. This sensor type is especially designed for performing oxygen measurements in gas samples after sensor insertion through rubber septa or packaging material (paper, plastics, aluminum packages). The needle is filled with glue ensuring no air leakage through the needle when puncturing packaging material. Application in liquids can be possible, but requires special precautions in order to remove "trapped" gas bubbles at the sensor tip.

Pt100 temp. These sensors feature a Pt100 temperature resistor. The can be either connected via the existing LEMO-connector or the Pt100 soldering pins.

Robust probe. Robust probes are fiber sensors with a robust stainless-steel sensor tip with 3mm in diameter.

Retractable fiber. The actual sensor tip is surrounded by a 40 mm long syringe needle and can be moved out with a unique 4-step sliding mechanism. When retracted into the needle, the sensor tip is protected giving maximum protection while handling the sensor or while penetrating packages or a septa. The complete sensor is resistant to corrosive environments (e.g. seawater), as all metallic parts are made of stainless steel.

Screw cap probe. Robust screw cap probe for easy and sustainable renewing of the sensor after demanding applications.

Sensor spots. Sensor spots allow measurements in closed sample containers with contactless read-out through a transparent window (glass, acryl glass) with special adapters and optical fibers for all types of fiber-optic meters from PyroScience. This enables incubations in closed systems, preventing potential contamination and simplifying oxygen monitoring without sampling, also in combination with pH and temperature sensor spots.

Single-analyte. With these sensors only one analyte can be measured.

Specialized for solvents. We offer fiber sensors for short-term application in specific (non-) polar solvents and solvent mixtures.

Specialized for gas. Fiber sensors specifically designed for measurements in gases. The complete inner space of the syringe needle is carefully filled with glue, to prohibit any gas transfer and any pollution of the sample through unwanted gas transfer through the needle.  Application in liquids are be possible, but requires special precautions in order to remove "trapped" gas bubbles at the sensor tip which can cause strong inaccuracies.

Standard stock item. This item is typically in stock and few items can be shipped quickly. This does not apply for larger amounts, which ship with standard delivery time.

Star sensor. This sensor is one of the world's best or only solutions in a certain application area, featuring for example a very fast response time, solvent resistance or a unique sensor format.

ST-connector. This connector is our standard sensor connector for the PC-operated and handheld FireSting devices.

SUB-connector (-SUB). Underwater sensor connector (instead of standard ST-connector) needed for applications with underwater devices.

SUB sensor caps. These sensor caps are suitable for all devices with SUB-connector

Temp. These sensors measure the temperature.

Top seller. This product is one of our top sellers and can be used for multiple and versatile applications.

Trace range. Trace range versions are available for high precision measurements close to 0% oxygen. They offer about 5x higher resolution compared to standard range oxygen sensors. The specified measuring range is 0-10% O2, with calibration at ambient air (21% O2), ensuring a straightforward calibration without the need of special calibration standards.

Ultra-high speed (-UHS). Ultra-fast oxygen sensors with a typical response times for 90% signal change (T90) in water and gas of <0.3 s (measured for the transition from air into a stirred solution of 1% Na2SO3).

Vial (20 ml). Based on the contactless sensor technology, PyroScience offers ready assembled sensor vials with integrated sensor stripes for oxygen and/or pH and/ or temperature. The glass respiration vials have screw caps with a septum, and are available with a volume of ca. 20mL (uncalibrated). Adapter rings allow an easy fixation of optical fibers for read-out with optical meters from PyroScience for incubations in closed vials and/or respiration rate measurements. The elongated shape of the sensor spots also allows measurements at different heights within the vial using several fibers/adapter rings in parallel.
