The fiber-optic temperature sensors rely on thermal quenching of photoluminescence and are optimized for the innovative REDFLASH technology from PyroScience. The optical temperature sensors are characterized by extreme photo-stability, small size of the sensor tip (minisensors), ultra-fast response times (<0.1 s in water), and do not show interferences with gases (such as oxygen) and ionic species.
This fiber-optic minisensor consist of an optical fiber with a sensor tip diameter of 430 µm. Compared to a microsensor, this sensor is suited for slightly larger samples, long-term measurements and profiling applications with less spatial resolution requirements.
Temperature range. This sensor is specified for the range of 0 to 50°C. Measurements at higher temperatures are possible, but the sensor specifications are not valid for temperatures out of this range.
Retractable fiber. The actual sensor tip is surrounded by a 40 mm long syringe needle and can be moved out with a unique 4-step sliding mechanism. When retracted into the needle, the sensor tip is protected giving maximum protection while handling the sensor or while penetrating packages or a septa. The complete sensor is resistant to corrosive environments (e.g. seawater), as all metallic parts are made of stainless steel.
Ultra-high speed. Our fiber-optic temperature sensors offer a very fast response time (t90) of < 0.1s in water.
Optical isolation. For applications at high ambient light (e.g. direct sunlight, illuminated samples) and in fluorescing / light-sensitive samples, an additional optical isolation (-OI) protection layer is added to the sensor surface to avoid interferences with the measurements.
SUB-connector (-SUB). Underwater sensor connector (instead of standard ST-connector) needed for applications with underwater devices.
Standard stock item. This item is typically in stock and small numbers can be shipped quickly. This does not apply for larger amounts, which ship with standard delivery time.
Star sensor. This sensor is one of the world's best or only solutions in a certain application area, featuring for example a very fast response time, solvent resistance or a unique sensor format.
